Blogger:Guys sorry if I publish my essay, so late... well here's my 1st essay in 4EAL class... its about athlete, cause we all know that the winter Olympics is actually held last month... i think that's all of it.. Enjoy!
Do you want to be an athlete? If I’m going to answer that question, maybe it’s a no. But for others, being an athlete representing their country in an Olympic game or world tournament is a big gratitude. But being a top athlete is not as simple as a 3 step pancake. I believe an athlete must posses these two elements: natural ability and hard work. Your body build, determination and training will help you a lot in this career. But I also affirm that one needs the other one to succeed. Natural ability is not the only necessity to be an athlete in needs back breaking and persistent work. So as much as hard work, sometimes having a natural ability is an advantage.
Being tall or short, thin or thick is sometimes essential for those who want to be a athletes. Let’s have an example: football players are usually broad, strong and gigantic. They have this specific body type because they are to be able to block all the opponents attacks; it will be easy to block the other team and to make the opponent flee away. Runners, they often need to have long legs to be able to stride longer. It will be easy for them to make more laps. Ballerinas, they have to have a thinner and skinnier frame. Big parts of their bodies make them hard to stretch, bend twist and hop. Figure skaters, it’ll be a leg up if the girl in partners is thin and small because it will be easy for the guy to lift or toss her into the air. Basketball players need longer parts of their body to make their power jumps for their dunk. Having a natural ability will make you better than others. To consider, a lot of sports demand a natural ability to be advantageous over others.
Being a good athlete is having a good determination in his or her sport. Athletes
aren’t just born to be athletes; they need hard work and determination. I remember an at
hlete who showed her determination on 2010 winter Olympics from Vancouver Canada. She is an athlete from skateboarding half pipe lady representative. In the middle of the course she made a wrong twist and fell down. Though she knew that that time she obviously lost, she still tried to climb and lift her body up, but too bad she can’t continue the game. She shows that even though she knew

that she already lost the event she still tried to finish the goal. That’s what a true athlete is all about; finishing their goals. As well as finishing goals athletes are taught how to be patient and how to be a good sport. Even though an athlete lost a game many times she or he is supposed to be more inspired than depress, that’s what an athlete must possesses.
An exceptional athlete needs a consistent will on his or her routine. Every Olympian has their training, not just an easy pick training, when you say Olympian’s training it will be tough, tiring , backbreaking and consistent training. And when you say consistent it is everyday, almost every time if needed. This year Canada shows how consistent training pays off. We got 14 gold, 7 silvers and 5 bronze on this 2010 Winter Olympics, to sum up we earn 26 awards. Also Canada broke the world record for the most gold medals in Olympics. Let’s set one example, gymnastics need to train everyday. They stretch, jump, run, lift weights and do some balance training. In the movie “Stick It” they showed what these professional gymnastics have to exchange to be able to be on top of the others. These are just few things they have to do to keep on track. Gymnastics is one of the hardest sports in Olympics. They need flexibility, agility, strength, coordination, stamina, balance and have presence of mind. They need to master all these things to be on top. Being consistent sure is hard, but this is just one of the things an athlete must have. Sometimes they have to miss s

ome important things just to be consistent in their trainings. Like the joke says, “Practice makes perfect, but nobody is perfect so why practice?”
Athlete replied, “We don’t practice to be perfect, we practice because we want to be the best, better than anybody else.”
To conclude, I believe an excessive athlete needs both natural ability and handwork. Though we barely know that practice actually builds up an athlete, I believe that if God gave you a natural ability you will be top to others. All athletes need natural ability along with determination and constant training. Nourish what God gave you that’s one of the way to show your thanks to him.
